La Junta del Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas (COAC) del Patronato del Concurso y Fiestas del Carnaval ha rectificado los errores detectados en la confección del cuadrante de actuaciones de la fase clasificatoria de adultos, de manera que también habrá chirigotas cerrando funciones de fin de semana como cabezas de serie.
Tras las últimas propuestas realizadas desde los colectivos de chirigotas y cuartetos, se ha decidido atenderlas realizando una modificación del cuadrante por modalidades, toda vez que hay tiempo y margen para hacerlo antes de que se lleve a cabo el sorteo para el orden de actuación que tendrá lugar el próximo sábado en el Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz.
Así, después de que la Junta del COAC aprobase este lunes ampliar en una agrupación por función de preliminares de adultos, esta fase se reducirá de las 24 sesiones inicialmente previstas a 20, a razón de siete agrupaciones diarias y ocho los fines de semana. De esta manera, tras aplicar corrección antes mencionada, el cuadrante con la distribución por funciones y modalidades de la fase clasificatoria de adultos, a partir del sábado 26 de enero, es el siguiente:

En cuanto a la participación del COAC 2019, queda de la siguiente forma:
- 148 agrupaciones de adultos: 16 coros, 71 comparsas, 55 chirigotas y 6 cuartetos.
- 22 agrupaciones juveniles: 2 coros, 5 chirigotas, 10 comparsas y 5 cuartetos.
- 16 agrupaciones infantiles: 5 chirigotas, 3 comparsas y 8 coros.
Según lo acordado, en caso de producirse alguna retirada antes del sorteo, éstas se recortarán de los días con ocho agrupaciones.
