La Junta del Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas (COAC) del Patronato del Concurso y Fiestas del Carnaval ha establecido las bases para la designación de las 20 agrupaciones que ejercerán como cabeza de serie en el concurso y el cuadrante del orden de actuación sobre el que se desarrollará el sorteo del próximo sábado para la fase clasificatoria de adultos.
En base a los requisitos establecidos por la Junta del COAC, se han designado los siguientes cabeza de serie, siendo éstos los que se encargarán de cerrar las sesiones de la fase clasificatoria:

Después de que la Junta del COAC aprobase este lunes ampliar en una agrupación por función de preliminares de adultos, esta fase se reducirá de las 24 sesiones inicialmente previstas a 20, a razón de siete agrupaciones diarias y ocho los fines de semana. De esta manera, el cuadro con la distribución por funciones y modalidades en la fase preliminar de adultos, a partir del sábado 26 de enero, es el siguiente:

Por otra parte, cabe señalar que se ha dado cuenta de las bajas de dos agrupaciones de adultos, concretamente de la comparsa Tu compañera y del cuarteto Los del bloque. Según lo acordado, en caso de producirse nuevas retiradas antes del sorteo, éstas se recortarán de los días con ocho agrupaciones. Con todo, la participación en el COAC 2019 queda, a fecha de hoy, de la siguiente forma:
- 148 agrupaciones de adultos: 16 coros, 71 comparsas, 55 chirigotas y 6 cuartetos.
- 22 agrupaciones juveniles: 2 coros, 5 chirigotas, 10 comparsas y 5 cuartetos.
- 16 agrupaciones infantiles: 5 chirigotas, 3 comparsas y 8 coros.
En lo que respecta a los cuadrantes de actuaciones para la categoría de Juveniles, la distribución es la siguiente:
